A Discussion on Unverified Antivirus Software Bugs

As if problems like internet explorer bugs and other software bugs were not enough, a host of unverified antivirus software packages bug you (rather bog you) down from time to time.
It is wise not to run unverified programs if you absolutely don't need them at all. There are two most essential things you need to do after you download an application (don't care to spare applications like anti virus also).

The step is to check for virus by right clicking on the icon, before installation, and choosing the anti virus program. This will begin scanning the application. The next step is to check the certificates and encryption status and the source of the just downloaded application even if it is an anti virus software. For this, right click on the icon and choose property, and then 'view certificate'. Just delete any thing suspicious no matter how they try to confuse or induce you by continuous questions while you attempt to delete or uninstall. Unverified antivirus software programs can install spywares onto your hard disk.

What Are The Differences Between Computer Bugs And Viruses?

Computer bugs are flaws or mistakes within the software program/s you use causing erroneous results. These are also called as software bugs and mostly arise from mistakes during the development (coding) of source code itself. Whereas viruses are self executable malicious programs which replicate themselves unlike bugs which don't. These are developed by scrupulous people and 'hosted' into other executable files.

While bugs don't spread from program to program, viruses are quite different on this count. Thy spread fast and internationally, too. Nevertheless, both can be equally damaging in one way or other. Bugs, for your information, can be seriously damaging as in the case of satellite control or missile control systems.

Discussion on Exploits/Viruses That Uses Bugs In a System

The networking packages such as Internet Explorer and Outlook had gaping holes left out leaving room for virus writers to exploit. Scripting languages and integrated applications allow access to file system for programmers making it still vulnerable. This is common for both Windows and UNIX platforms. Usually it is the strategical development for securitization which leaves exploits. As an example, closed-source software development by Microsoft and others is a weakness, in this regard. Linux or GNU, which are open-source environments, are less prone to exploits as anyone seeing it can fix the lacuna. You can fix hidden bugs and errors on your pc, fix computer bugs and take all those remedial steps. But with a broad band connection and internet explorer bugs on the prowl, it is a tough time to go.
