By connecting your PC to the internet, you are opening doors for several malware(s) to enter your computer. Your computer faces severe security threats from PC viruses, PC worms, phishing attacks, spyware, and hackers. • Run a frequent update for you security programs then and there. Virus database of the security program should be updated regularly.
• To safeguard the PC against hacking, setup a firewall and configure the settings.
• Download security patches to solve invulnerabilities found on some software programs.
• Have a concern on what you are about to download. It is better not to download free stuffs.
• Scan the email attachments before downloading.
• Install spam filter on your email account and remove spam messages, as it might have a link taking you to a phishing site.
• Don’t fall for practical tricks and jokes regarding new viruses, warnings, etc.
